Overview
The MSI Pro B760M-E is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the Intel B760 chipset, designed for the LGA1700 socket. It supports Intel Core 12th, 13th, and 14th generation processors, as well as Intel Pentium Gold and Celeron processors, making it a versatile foundation for a wide range of productivity and office builds. On the memory side, the board provides two DDR5 DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 96 GB per the source specification. It supports DDR5 speeds from 4800 MHz (JEDEC) up to 6400+ MHz under XMP 3.0 overclocking in a 1 DIMM-per-channel, single-rank configuration, or up to 5600+ MHz in a 1 DIMM-per-channel, dual-rank setup. Dual-Controller Dual-Channel mode is supported alongside non-ECC, unbuffered memory. Storage connectivity includes one M.2 slot (M.2_1) sourced from the chipset, supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA mode for 2242, 2260, and 2280 form-factor drives, plus four SATA 6 Gbps ports with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. Note that SATA5 becomes unavailable when an M.2 SATA SSD is installed in the M2_1 slot. Expansion is handled by one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot from the CPU and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot from the chipset. Display output on the rear panel includes an HDMI 1.4 port supporting up to 4K at 30 Hz with HDR and a VGA port supporting up to 1920x1200 at 60 Hz — both require a processor with integrated graphics. The rear I/O panel features two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gbps) ports, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN via Realtek RTL8111H, and 7.1-channel HD audio powered by a Realtek ALC897 codec. Internally, four additional USB 2.0 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A headers are available for front-panel connectivity. An RGB LED connector (JRGB) and four EZ Debug LEDs aid in troubleshooting and personalisation. A TPM 2.0 pin header is included, supporting Windows 11 security requirements.
