The MSI PRO B550M-P WiFi 6E is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on AMD's B550 chipset for the AM4 socket, supporting AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, Ryzen 5000 G-Series, Ryzen 4000 G-Series, and Ryzen 3000 Series processors. Designed for professional workstations and capable home builds alike, it combines reliable platform connectivity with modern wireless standards to suit a wide range of use cases. At the heart of its connectivity offering is an integrated Wi-Fi 6E solution paired with Bluetooth 5.3, enabling high-speed wireless networking and data transmission with improved band capacity compared to earlier Wi-Fi generations. A single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot (from the CPU) provides fast GPU bandwidth, while a Lightning Gen4 x4 M.2 slot delivers rapid NVMe storage throughput. Two additional PCIe 3.0 x1 slots from the chipset extend expansion options for add-in cards. Memory is handled by four DDR4 DIMM slots supporting dual-channel configurations with a maximum capacity of 128 GB. Supported native and overclocked speeds range from DDR4-2667 up to 4400+ MT/s via A-XMP OC mode, with configuration-dependent maximums: 1DPC 1R up to 4400+ MT/s, 1DPC 2R up to 3733+ MT/s, 2DPC 1R up to 3866+ MT/s, and 2DPC 2R up to 3466+ MT/s. Only non-ECC, unbuffered memory is supported. Display outputs on the rear panel include one HDMI port and one VGA port for integrated graphics use.
